7. And Then He Talked About The Kardashians Having Facial Hair

McFarlane said a scruffy Ben Affleck might be mistaken for a Kardashian.

As a fellow Armenian woman, I can’t really object to this one. :P

fuckyeahsexeducation:

Huge news as studies have shown that more long lasting forms of birth control are more effective and desired, but that a lot of people are afraid of the side effects and pain associated with IUDs. It’s not being sold yet, but Skyla should appear sometime next month in the United States. It works for up to 3 years and has similar side effects and health risks as other forms of birth control.

So, it’s just a smaller Mirena, right?

once i confused juggalo with gigolo

those are two things you don’t want to confuse

Wait, those are different? I don’t mean this a social commentary, I genuinely didn’t know what a “juggalo” was but figured it was the same as a gigolo. Its not?

noooo no no!! i mean that’s the entire point of this quote

99.99% of the time when men are in a feminist space they TAKE OVER and that’s what people are complaining about

of course i’m not that person so i can’t say for certain but i’m pretty sure what they were getting at was that for men to expect that they can be a big part of the feminist movement is really counterproductive because of shit like this

I think part of that is just a consequence of socialization. Men are expected to “take the lead” just as much as women are expected to allow men to. To say that that’s a valid reason to say it’s counterproductive for “men to expect that they can be a big part of the feminist movement” just sounds fucking egotistical. It’s saying “men are a certain way, therefore they shouldn’t be part of this”. It’s sexist to the core, and I’m frankly shocked to see self proclaimed feminists endorse this sort of attitude.

"What happens when men enter women’s feminist spaces? Dale Spender did an experiment to find out, and published the results in Man Made Language:
Present at the discussion, which was a workshop on sexism and education in London, were thirty-two women and five men. Apart from the fact that the tape revealed that the men talked for over 50 per cent of the time, it also revealed that what the men wanted to talk about – and the way in which they wanted to talk – was given precedence."

THIS is precisely why men should not be a part of the feminist movement! So important

along the same line, and this is not the only piece of research that shows this

hey look it’s my entire experience as a gender studies major smh

THIS is precisely why men should not be a part of the feminist movement! So important” ——— …. what the fuck, isn’t this attitude the exact opposite of what feminism is trying to achieve? This seems pretty fucking misandrist to me.
